Starline has temperature tested our mugs, tumblers, and bottles for temperature heat retention. We have expressed those results in multiples (X-Factor™) of the time Starline keeps your beverage in the ideal drinking range when compared to a standard coffee house cup w/lid.  

The coffee industry has defined the ideal drinking temperature for a cup of coffee to be between 175°F and 145°F. How long does your cup keep your coffee or hot beverage of choice hot?  Depending on your cup of choice, this can range between 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Under standard ambient temperature and atmospheric conditions with control measures in place, Starline conducted a temperature decay experiment.  Using a standard coffee house paper cup with lid, our travel mugs, tumblers and thermos bottles and a digital thermometer we were able to calculate the average temperature decay for the coffee house cup and our Drinkware products.  From the results we were able to determine 7 temperature rating groups:

These products have the same rate of cooling as the coffee house cup. These products will keep your coffee warm twice as long as a coffee house cup. These products will keep your coffee warm two and a half times as long as a coffee house cup. These products will keep your coffee warm three times as long as a coffee house cup. These products will keep your coffee warm five times as long as a coffee house cup. These products will keep your coffee warm ten times as long as a coffee house cup. These products will keep your coffee warm twenty times as long as a coffee house cup.

The same principal can be applied to cold drinks and how long our products will keep a drink cool compared to a store-bought plastic water bottle.
